Geek Of The Week: David Murphy, CEO of Riverbed

Riverbed is a globally known digital performance company, it is a known organization for driving expansion in growth especially in the niche of digital networking and . They provide users with a platform that helps to improve overall digital experience, this it does by unifying device- based user experience, application of these experience created and also effective network monitoring to measure, understand and proactively improve this experience.

Founded in May 2002 Jerry Kennelly and Steve McCanne, with its headquarters at San Franscico. Over the years, the company has acquired a number of organizations including Mazu Networks in 2009, the CACE Technologies in 2010, Global Protocols in 2010, Zeus Technology in 2011, Expand Networks in 2012, OPNET technologies in 2012, and many others with its most recent acquisition being that of FlowTraq in 2017.

The organization is headed by David Murphy who was just recently appointed in the place of the outgoing CEO Paul Mountford who will be taking another leadership executive position in the industry.  Prior to becoming CEO, David has had about 30 years of experience in various leadership positions, notable among them is his role as the former president and COO of Blue Coat systems and also alike positions in Mercury interactive and Tivoli systems plus two interim roles at Qlik and Apttus. David is a graduate of the Stanford University and also the Florida Atlantic university.
