This week was a big week for cloud for enterprises. With Rackspace’s new solution, Oracles event at their newly launched cloud center, and Microsoft and IBM beating AWS in revenue growth; we decided this week’s geek of the week should come out of a lesser known enterprise be Guillaume Boisvert of SherWeb.
For anyone who is not yet familiar with this series. A while ago, the CloudWedge team launched a feature called Geek of the Week. In this feature we award the prestigious honor of ‘Geek of the Week’ to someone from our news posts of that week we feel have done something that deserves special mention or praise. This is either directly through their actions or those of their companies. This award is a certification of honor as the receiver is considered to be a ‘cloud leader.’
We mentioned Guillaume earlier this week in reference to SherWeb’s acquisition of North Carolina based OrcsWeb. This move will not only expand their public cloud products, but will also hopefully expand their services within the US. Guillaume is currently the Product Manager of Cloud Computing at SherWeb, and is responsible for leading SherWeb’s Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS) initiatives.
Prior to SherWeb he worked as a senior technical consultant at CGI, product director at both Les Technologies Seedbox Inc., and Inoveo Communications, where he worked for over 9 years.
Guillaume has an executive Mini-MBA in Business from McGuill University in Montreal,Canada, and a DEC in Computer Science from Champlain Regional College in Sherbrooke, Canada.
