Geek of the Week: Leore Avidar

The team at CloudWedge are happy to announce this week’s Geek of the Week is Leore Avidar, CEO and co-founder of Lob. We mentioned Lob this week in reference to their 7 Million Series-A round of funding. Lob is a cloud-based API platform provider and was co-founded in 2013 by Leore Avidar and Harry Zhang. We decided to award Leore with the honor of this week’s Geek of the Week as in his role as CEO Leore is responsible for the direction of Lob.

For anyone who is not yet familiar with this series. A while ago, the CloudWedge team launched a feature called Geek of the Week. In this feature we award the prestigious honor of ‘Geek of the Week’ to someone from our news posts of that week we feel have done something that deserves special mention or praise. This is either directly through their actions or those of their companies. This award is a certification of honor as the receiver is considered to be a ‘cloud leader.’

Leore started his career as a trader on Wallstreet, from there he has had a diverse range of work experience. This includes; working as a Google ambassador, Co-Founder and CEO of Blue Lane, Non-Agency MBS Trader at the Royal Bank of Scotland, Founder and CEO at dress.me, Asset Management Derivatives Trader at Citigroup Global Markets, Technical Business Development, Startups and Venture Capital at Amazon Web Services.

Leore has a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Stephen M. Ross School of Business at the University of Michigan, with a focus on finance and computer science.

According to the Lob website: “When he isn’t working on Lob he can typically be found spending time with his friends, playing basketball, and eating fruit.”
