Geek of the Week: Nelson Nahum

There were a number of launches this week within the industry, and so yet again, this week’s geek of the week is pooled from quite a rich pool of contenders.  Without further ado, the CloudWedge team are happy to announce this week’s geek of the week is Nelson Nahum, Co-founder and CEO of enterprise Storage-as-a-Service provider, Zadara storage.

For anyone who is not yet familiar with this series. A while ago, the CloudWedge team launched a feature called Geek of the Week. In this feature we award the prestigious honor of ‘Geek of the Week’ to someone from our news posts of that week we feel have done something that deserves special mention or praise. This is either directly through their actions or those of their companies. This award is a certification of honor as the receiver is considered to be a ‘cloud leader.’

We mentioned Zadara earlier this week in reference to their debut of an On-Premise-as-a-Service for VPSA. We felt Nelson deserved this award as we were really impressed with Zadara’s approach to storage and removing the cookie cutter template that many enterprises have to work with could be a big step forward for the industry.  Additionally, with a number of patents under his belt, as well as 20 years of experience in the industry, Nelson is certainly a cloud geek.

Prior to Zadara, Nelson worked as a fellow and vice president of software and solutions at LSI Corporation. Prior to that he was the CTO, co-founder and R&D Manager of StoreAge Networking Technologies. Nelson also worked as a software engineer manager and principal engineer at IIS Ltd.

Nelson has a B.Sc electrical engineering from the Technion, the Israeli Institute of Technology.
