If you browse Cisco’s website, it is becoming difficult to find a page that does not contain the words “Internet of Everything.” IoE is more than just a buzz phrase in the Cisco community; it’s a new way of doing business.
Several weeks ago, Cisco announced that with their partnerships, they would build out the world’s largest global Intercloud to support the IoE.
In today’s announcements, Cisco announced additional partnerships that would help them in this endeavor. According to Cisco’s press release, the following companies are partnering with Cisco:
Dimension Data and Sungard Availability Services – As Intercloud partners, these organizations are expected to deliver wholesale resources to resellers and direct resources to public cloud consumers.
Accenture – Without the proper skills that relate to cloud orchestration and automation, the Internet of Everything could become a failure. Accenture’s expert insight on cloud automation will help Cisco set itself apart from its competitors.
VCE and NetApp – These companies will help Cisco develop solutions for organizations that are Intercloud friendly.
Johnson Controls – Hybrid cloud is about onsite and offsite resources working together seamlessly. What happens when you need additional onsite resources? Johnson controls delivers module styled datacenters that can easily plugin to existing infrastructure.
Cisco is succeeding at convincing CIOs that hybrid cloud must be embraced sooner rather than later. Cisco’s strategic partnerships will help Cisco’s clients achieve their end goals. Todd Pavone, Executive VP at VCE is certainly excited about the new partnership. In a press release, he mentions, “The Cisco Cloud strategy is to build the platform for the Internet of Everything by connecting the world of many clouds into the Intercloud. VCE will help Cisco accomplish this ambitious goal by enabling enterprises and cloud providers to build hybrid-ready private clouds based on proven true converged infrastructure from VCE. Together, VCE and Cisco can deliver ‘Intercloud-ready’ Vblock Systems that further accelerate IT transformation by enabling secure workload migration between public and private clouds while simplifying infrastructure management, increasing business agility and lowering costs.”
