EMC: Build Your Hybrid Cloud in 48 Hours

EMC World 2014 is currently underway in Las Vegas, Nevada. The convention is taking place at the Venetian Casino and Hotel and this year’s installment of EMC is packed with cloud news, innovations and workshops. The official EMC world website is www.emcworld.com. Live streaming of the event is available online at www.emcworld.com/virtual. In social media, use the hashtag #EMCWORLD to follow the conference.

The biggest headline at EMC World 2014 is that EMC is touting that you can attend the conference and build out your own hybrid cloud infrastructure in only 48 hours. From a press release detailing the event, EMC states, “This week in Las Vegas, implementation engineers from EMC Global Services and EMC Engineering will endeavor to build a Hybrid Cloud in two days or less that is based on the EMC Hybrid Cloud reference architecture featuring Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS), PaaS, Backup-as-a-Service (BaaS), Disaster Recovery-as-a-Service (DRaaS), automated monitoring and metering and usage transparency, as well as continuous availability.”

The conference will focus on 5 key areas of cloud. These key areas are software defined data centers, data lakes, security analytics, virtual workspaces and Platform as a Service. Of course, the biggest highlight of the conference is EMC’s ability to provide tools to on-premises datacenter managers that will allow for the construction of a hybrid cloud in days, not weeks or months.

Josh Kahn, Senior Vice President of Global Solutions Marketing mentions, “With today’s announcement of the EMC Hybrid Cloud solution, we are delivering the industry’s best method for IT to deliver added value to the business while evolving itself to a broker of services – whether in-house or from a public cloud. Our objective is to make it simpler for IT organizations to deploy well run hybrid clouds in a matter of days and deliver the same or even better agility and efficiency benefits to public clouds.”
