Hitachi Data Systems Corp., a subsidiary of Tokyo based Conglomerate Hitachi, has recently announced the launch of their new cloud partner ecosystem, in partnership with Avnet Technology Solutions. ATS is a global IT solutions distributor headquartered in Arizona.
This follows a few clear strides taken by Hitachi towards the ANZ market. Earlier this year, HDS opened offices in Australia to service Australia and New Zealand markets. Additionally, they partnered last month with a Melbourne-headquartered cloud service provider called Global Storage
Avnet will be an official distributor for Hitachi Cloud Services Connection program (HCSC) in Australia under the new branding of Avnet Cloud Connect.
According to a media release “Under the brand Avnet Cloud Connect, Hitachi Data Systems and Avnet, together with independent software vendors (ISVs) and alliance partners, help a growing number of resellers and systems integrators (SIs) to capitalise on the opportunity of cloud computing without the need for capital investment.”
There are already a number of partners that have joined the new ecosystem including, Availability Solutions, Perfekt, and Gammer Group.
Avnet are excited by the partnership, as Darren Adams, vice president and general manager at Avnet said, “Avnet’s partnership with Hitachi Data Systems was a great opportunity for our partner community to take advantage of a rapidly growing space. Avnet Cloud Connect allows partners to go to market in a fast, flexible and affordable way,” he continued, “the need to outlay large capital sums in order to build their own cloud services offering is removed as partners can leverage the current investment made by both Avnet and Hitachi Data Systems.”
The services on offer from Avnet Cloud Connect will be a utility-based, pay-per-use model. It will offer diverse, locally hosted offering, which will include a range of IaaS, SaaS and Content as a Service (CaaS) services.
Phil Teague, Hitachi Data Systems ANZ’s director of Industry & Alliance Solutions, was quoted as saying, that this “100 percent indirect wholesale cloud offering, ” is a “low risk, friendly and supportive” path for resellers to migrate their users to the cloud.
