HP & Telecom Italia Partner to Help Italian Clouds

Hewlett-Packard (HP), together with Italian telecommunications company Telecom Italia, have recently announced their latest cloud partnership that will focus exclusively on large enterprises and the government sector in Italy. This partnership was made to introduce the ‘New Style of IT’ and consequently like most cloud endeavors improve efficiency whilst cutting costs. This will be achieved through a new offering of integrated end-to-end cloud transformation services that are specifically designed to help businesses grow, streamline their services and gain the competitive edge.

Marten Mickos, the senior vice president and general manager of cloud at HP said, “Traditional IT infrastructures don’t have the capabilities and bandwidth to handle growing levels of information and demandso organizations need to move to the New Style of IT where cloud delivers round-the-clock connectivity…The combined expertise of HP and Telecom Italia will provide organizations with integrated, proven capabilities that can deliver successful cloud transformations. Migrating from traditional monolithic IT architectures to secure, flexible hybrid cloud infrastructures based on HP Helion technology will reduce customer costs and enable anytime, anywhere access to data, applications and tools.”

With this partnership, users are be able to utilize the resources of both HP and Telecom Italia for cloud transformation management. This can take place right from initial assessments. HP brings to the table their flexible hybrid cloud infrastructures which is based on its Helion technology. Through this they are able to run a complete assessment of customer needs, and thereafter provide complete support of migration to a Virtual Private Cloud environment. Whereas Telecom Italia brings their Nuvola Italiana cloud offering, which include managed data center services housed in their seven data centres located across Italy. Through this they will be able to aid in a user cloud adoption through project management and end-to-end management of the full service stack.

Simone Battiferri, the executive vice president of the business market division of Telecom Italia said, “The cloud is a critical factor in enabling the digitalization processes necessary for the growth and development of Italy’s national economic system. Thanks to this partnership with HP Telecom Italia broadens its cloud value proposition for companies and government and enriches its Nuvola Italiana’s infrastructure through the adoption of a further, new technology.”

This is not the first partnership for the team as HP and Telecom Italia are also working together on the Cloud28+ initiative (video below), which aims to make and transform EU commission projects into a business reality.
