Tech Data and EarthLink Form Cloud Partnership

Tech Data is expanding their umbrella of cloud offerings by incorporating services offered by Earthlink. TDCloud, Tech Data’s flagship cloud offering, will now offer Desktop as a Service and Earthlink’s TechCare services. This will allow TDCloud customers to have access to Earthlink’s cloud experts when they need support for their services. Tech Data is a technology vendor based in Clearwater, Florida. EarthLink is based in Atlanta, Georgia and the company is known as being one of the top managed service providers in the world.

Stacy Neathercoat from Tech Data is quoted in an interview as saying, “Adding EarthLink to the TDCloud portfolio gives solution providers access to services that manage end-to-end IT support, communications and virtualization.”

Further commenting on the deal, Nethercoat said, “This offering was brought on into the TDCloud portfolio specifically for partners who are working to expand or launch their cloud practice and obviously investing in those services resources can be expensive.”

Sheila Turpin from Earthlink commented on the deal as saying, “We’re starting with TechCare and Workspace as our foundational cloud services, but we’ll look to enable more cloud services as we move forward in our relationship.”

Tech Data believes that this service integration will allow them to offer solutions to their clients within a rapid period of time. Tech Data feels as if they can become a one-stop shop for cloud services that are tailored to small to medium enterprises. Adding Earthlink into the mix allows Tech Data to target larger scale organizations who are trying to implement complex cloud services into their environment.

Nethercoat summed up the Tech Data’s excitement on the deal by saying, “There’s an open dialogue around, ‘How can Tech Data meet the needs of our partners?’ We respond and develop relationships with third parties, all based on the feedback we’re receiving from our partners.”
