
Telstra’s venture capital arm Telstra Ventures has taken a minority equity investment in Panviva a cloud software company in yet another expansion of its cloud and services portfolio. The value of the investment has not been disclosed.
Panviva is a cloud-based business process guidance software solutions provider, and is headquartered in Melbourne, Australia. Panviva is now a global provider with customers spanning Australia, parts of the U.S. and the U.K., including leading global brands in the finance, healthcare and telecommunications sectors, as well as other industries. This investment will allow Panviva to accelerate product development and expand its sales and marketing capabilities globally, particularly within the U.S.
There is also a reseller agreement between the two companies whereby Telstra will offer provide Panviva services to its own customers.
Ted Gannan, CEO at Panviva is reported as saying, “We’re excited by the opportunity for Panviva to leverage Telstra’s pre-eminent position in the Australian market and growing footprint in Asia. Most of our Australian-based customers are also customers of Telstra and we look forward to more of the Telstra customer base joining the Panviva family. Panviva’s solution delivers the right information, to the right person at the right time. The software knows exactly where the user needs assistance to complete tasks and assists to reduce the amount of time customers would need to spend on the phone or in a store, improving the customer experience.”
Panviva’s flagship product SupportPoint is a cloud-based business process guidance software solution. It is offered as a Software as a Service (SaaS) product and enables users to effectively perform complex business processes and adapt to changes by eliminating the need to remember each step in a dynamic process. Michelle Bendschneider, the executive director of global services at Telstra Global Enterprise and Services explained that uses will have, “one-click access to the help desk information they need to do their jobs right first time working in real-time, alongside the applications open on their desktop”.
Existing SupportPoint users include ANZ Bank, BT, Bupa, Health Alliance Medical Plans, Westpac, Stellar US, DuluxGroup, Medibank, Stellar Asia Pacific BPO, Rocky Mountain Health Plans and Sentara Healthcare.
