Apple Set to Launch New TV Streaming Service

Tech giant, Apple has confirmed that it will organize a press event on March 25th at the Steve Jobs Theater in Cupertino, California.

It is expected that that’s where Apple would officially introduce its new TV streaming service that will allow iPad and iPhone users to gain access to free original shows. It is also expected that the TV service would also provide the options of streaming Showtime and Starz.

The company has sent out invites to guests and members of the press to the special event, and even though it didn’t expressly make it known, the countdown with the tagline ‘It’s show time’ seems to be a strong indication that the long-rumored streaming service will take center stage at the event.

While positive speculations are rife, this would not be the first time Apple had used the tagline for an event. The company had used the exact tagline for an event in 2006 when it had unveiled Apple TV (formerly iTV) along with the announcement that it would start providing movies for iTunes users.

The company is also planning to revamp Apple News products which will include an array of subscriptions from major news service and magazines all in a convenient monthly plan. According to a WSJ article, the news service will be based on the Texture app – fondly called Netflix for news – that Apple bought back in 2018.

There have also been speculations that Apple plans to unveil a new hardware at the event. This is not easily dismissible because it had been a year since Apple launched the iPad Pro which was refreshed in October last year.

While Apple is expected to announce a new 10.2-inch iPad to replace the 9.7-inch later this year, it seems fitting to deduce that the company might demonstrate the news and TV streaming service on the new device.

Apple’s TV streaming service is set to launch sometime in April or May.
