AgreeYa Solutions, a leading company in software as well as solutions and services, partnered with the South Coast Air Quality Management District (South Coast AQMD) just recently to bring in its air quality mobile app on iOS and Android devices. It is a user-friendly app.
South Coast AQMD had a vision to develop a highly polished mobile app which is intuitive to users and also acts as a one-stop-shop for public affairs.
Taking advantage of its widely ranged expertise and resources, AgreeYa’s team functions in close relation to South Coast AQMD to build and release the mobile app early this year. From the time of its release, the app has received several awards and also acclaims from several parties, which include a Technology Innovation Award from Government Technology Magazine.
The South Coast AQMD app track air quality for over 17 million residents who reside in some of the lowest air quality in the nation in Los Angeles, San Bernardino, Orange and Riverside counties.
By the virtue of careful analysis and creative engineering, AgreeYa formed a team with South Coast AQMD, to develop the mobile app from the ground up, merging real-time air quality forecasts for several cities in the South Coast Air Basin. The most recent version also showcases detailed interactive air quality maps, air quality insights, configurable air quality notifications as well as health alerts.
Special among these characteristics is instant access to the 1-800-CUT-SMOG line, enabling users to call in an air quality complaint, smoking vehicle or equipment breakdown with the touch of a button. The mobile app also has an Esri GIS data-enabled interactive map which allows users to easily find alternative fuel stations.
The South Coast AQMD app presently works for iOS and Android users in 20 cities and gets its data from 38 EPA-confirmed and -regulated source receptor areas (SRAs), all of which are updated in real-time and can be reached through the app. Users can make use of each of these SRAs to get detailed reports of the air quality in those regions, along with other metrics like particular pollutants present as well as the locations of alternative fuel stations.
