CloudHeath is a startup based in Boston, MA that specializes in providing high performance SaaS apps to healthcare providers. CloudHealth recently announced that they have secured $12M in venture capital from Scale Ventures. Other investors who participated in this Series B round of funding are 406 Ventures and Sigma Prime Ventures. CEO and co-founder Dan Phillips says that CloudHealth will use the venture funding to bring on additional sales and marketing staff. Phillips also notes that part of the investment capital would be used to recruit cloud computing developers and engineers for his team.
Phillips commented on the current state of the growing cloud industry saying, “There is this ecosystem of cloud vendors forming as the world is moving to the cloud, and the market is moving very quickly.” Philips adds, “We are fortunate to be in the middle of that and accelerating like crazy.”
The rapid growth experienced by CloudHealth was applauded by its investors. Ariel Tseitlin, the former director of cloud solutions at NetFlix, was appointed to CloudHealth’s board of directors as a result of the investment made by Scale Ventures. In a press release highlighting the investment, Tseitlin says that he believes he can help guide CloudHealth through many of the same growing pains his team experienced while working at NetFlix.
CloudHealth’s ability to provide rapid, on-demand cloud solutions has helped CloudHealth earn a name for itself in the exploding cloud sector. Given the market research and CloudHealth’s recent investment by Scale Ventures, CloudHealth could stand to be come a major player in the cloud arena.
