Managed Service Providers are finding that they will be selling Disaster Recovery as a Service and High Availability services more so than any other cloud service in 2016.
ProfitBricks, an IT research firm, recently conducted a written survey that received the response of over 2,000 managed service providers.
In fact, ProfitBricks conducted their survey the old fashioned way. They setup a booth at IT Nation and began asking MSPs the survey questions face to face.
It only took 3 days for ProfitBricks to formulate their findings; We’ve listed some of these ProfitBrick’s 2016 MSP Predictions below.
The percentage beside the category denotes the percentage of respondents that selected this answer to the question, “What will be the top Cloud opportunities for your business 2016?”
- 17% – High Availability Services
- 16% – Disaster Recovery
- 14% – Recurring Revenue
- 11% – Security Related Services
- 9% – Cloud Migration Services
- 8% – Easy Upgrades
- 8% – Centralized Management Services
- 18% – Other Services
“The results of this survey confirmed what we’ve been seeing emerge for some time now,” mentions Achim Weiss, CEO and co-founder of ProfitBricks.
“The channel is moving to the cloud at an unprecedented rate, and MSPs now have the unique opportunity to increase revenue and effectiveness if they offer services that only the cloud enables them to do,” explained Weiss.
“It’s clear that 2016 will be a year where the channel embraces the opportunities that cloud computing presents for augmenting their offerings and increasing business value,” Weiss added.
Weiss’s comments make it clear that 2016 is a make or break year for some MSPs. With MSPs being one of the ways that businesses are being introduced to new cloud products, MSPs will likely spearhead all of the neat things that cloud can do for businesses.
