Milton Security Protecting Google Apps For Education

Google apps for education are cloud storage applications that provide highly secure online backup and disaster recovery features specifically geared for the education sector. They are designed to make it easier for students and educators to navigate the education process from studying to coursework submission. Yesterday they received a new level in their cloud security from Milton Security. This new level of cloud security authentication measure integrate adaptive network access controls to streaming the secure login procedure though one of Milton’s appliances, the Edge7200 or the ICEGuard.

This works through a single log-in to a user’s Google Apps for Education account. Once logged in their identity is verified and they receive immediate access to their unique cloud network.

James McMurry, CEO at Milton Security said “Many schools are working with a very limited budget these days…Google Apps for Education is incredibly popular because it’s free and has a lot of great resources. By leveraging it for authentication purposes, the combination of the Milton Adaptive Network Security Appliances and Milton’s CAS Education Organizations cut down on a school’s cost for real network security without compromising visibility and control.”

Apps for Education is designed to move the education experience to a greener realm. By creating a paperless experience they have saved students and educational institutions significant costs whilst lowering their carbon footprint.

California based Milton Security Group were founded in 2007, and are the ‘Bring Your Own Device’ (BYOD) enabler for all organizations.
