PS4 System Update Promises More Cloud Storage and Cloud Capabilities

The PlayStation 4 is one of the most beloved gaming consoles in the world. With the newest update of the PS4 platform, users of the system can gain access to a tremendous amount of cloud based features and functionalities. The new system update for the PS4 is codenamed Kenshin. The new additions to the PS4 platform are designed for gamers to be able to engage online, strategize and share ideas about their favorite gaming titles.
One of the biggest enhancements coming to PlayStation 4 users is the new cloud storage upgrade. Formerly, members of PlayStation Plus were only granted 1GB of cloud storage space. This upset many users as they were constantly requesting additional space for their accounts. Sony has announced that with their 3.0 Kenshin update, PlayStation Plus members will have their storage increased to 10GBs.
Another neat feature that relates to the new update is the ability to stream your gameplay online through YouTube. One of the biggest trends in gaming is the ability to stream your gaming skills online for others to see. With the PS4, you can do just that using the world’s most popular video streaming website: YouTube.
Another marquis feature of the PS4 update is its Events feature. In an article on the PlayStation 4 blog, the events feature is described as way to get “An overview of activities taking place in the games you play most, as well as official broadcasts. For instance, you may see an update for a double XP weekend, a special enemy appearing at a scheduled time, or seasonal events like in-game towns being decorated for the winter.”
Other features and updates of the new PS4 platform include:

  • Favorite Groups
  • Communities
  • Sharing Video Clips on Twitter
  • Live from PlayStation
  • Screenshots in PNG format
  • Request to Watch a Friends Gameplay Remotely
  • Now Playing – See what your friends are playing so you can join in
  • Stickers for the messaging console

PlayStation 4 says that even more updates than this could be released. A release date has not been set, however PlayStation expects this to happen within the foreseeable future.
