According to Bjarki Jonsson, who is the Manager at Siminn’s TV Department, “Live sports coverage has a unique ability to captivate the imaginations of viewers all over the world and we want to give Icelandic fans the best possible, high quality experience of the beautiful game. By partnering with MediaKind and using their industry leading RX1 solution, we will deliver the best football moments as they happen in the highest picture quality with the lowest latency.
As such, there will be a standard pre- testing and also configuration of the specific solution that will help to ensure that viewers are supplied with the best possible viewing and audio experiences during each game time. This will be made possible by the deployment of a specific decoder type which is a MK RX1, multi-codec and also a multi-service one, using this specific decoder type will ensure that the integrity of the display remains the same, despite the fact that the latency type use will be the lowest type used in the media industry. Up to about 12 feeds can be decoded at once using this decoder type.
There will also be a MK decoder also to help obstruct illegal access to the live contents and also help Siminns with the proper management of contents distribution for viewing. This MK decoder is known as a control and conditional access management software product.
We are excited to work alongside Premier League Productions and Siminns to enable outstanding, live UHD match day experiences for football fans across Iceland. Through the deployment of our contribution and distribution solutions, we can provide greater flexibility, superior low latency and highly advanced encryption to optimize the value of Siminn’s live coverage of one of the world’s most popular sporting leagues.” said Damien Montessuit, the Regional Head at EMEA.
