The announcement by Source Photonics that it will show the interoperability of its latest 400G and 100G PAM4 based transceivers with industry partners at OFC 2019 from today, the 5th of March to Thursday, the 7th of March, is definitely some great news. Source Photonics is a leading vendor optical connectivity products for Access and Datacom applications.
It is crucial for successful interoperability to exist between hosts and optical transceivers. Multiple demonstrations existing at Source Photonics booth #4021 as well as the Ethernet Alliance booth #4749 will show error-free traffic via a link that involves traffic generators and OEM network equipment connected with Source Photonics’ optical transceivers.
Partner companies have joined this multi-vendor interoperability at the Source Photonics’ booth. Some of these companies include Viavi and Ixia for test capabilities, as well as Edgecore, Innovium and Quanta for network equipment. The several links are enabled via several modules received from Source Photonics’ 400G portfolio in QSFP-DD form factor such as the 400G-DR4 and 400G-LR8, as well as the 100G-FR QSFP28. The overall aim of these partnerships is to bring solutions for even the next-generation to customers, as well as supply the high-speed connectivity they need. The company’s goal of leaving their mark on the ever-changing cloud scale networks ecosystem was also confirmed by Manish Mehta of Source Photonics.
As for Innovium, with the developments in view, they are fully aware of the customers’ experience of explosive growth in data traffic and also aggressively looking forward to deploying 400G in their networks. As they are a leader in the provision of low-latency, programmable 12.8T switch silicon with unmatched telemetry and power efficiency, they are enabling users to build the next generation of 100/200/400G networks. Their partnership with Source Photonics is bound to be productive.
Ixia is happy to see their high speed Ethernet K400 QSF-DD solution also constantly play a role in showing multi-vendor interoperability.
To see the live demo of the 400G and 100G PAM4-based solutions, Source Photonics’ booth and Ethernet Alliance booths can be visited from March 5th to March 7th, 2019.
