VeloCloud is rapidly becoming known as one of the top providers of software defined WAN (SD-WAN) solutions. With VeloCloud, businesses of all sizes can connect their branch offices in minutes using the cloud.
Because of VeloCloud’s easy setup, organizations have taken advantage of VeloCloud’s innovative cloud service delivery model to streamline the process of setting up branch offices and connecting them to your network.
VeloCloud was able to forge several strategic alliances in 2015. CloudWedge recently wrote about VeloCloud’s partnership with Vonage to provide SmartWAN to customers.
VeloCloud’s incredible 30X sales growth has forced the WAN as a Service provider to increase its staffing levels by 50%. In 2015, VeloCloud added over 100 customers and over 30 ecosystem partners.
On the investment front, VeloCloud was able to secure $27M in Series C financing, with these rounds being led by March Capital Partners. Cisco Investments is also another notable investor of VeloCloud.
“In 2015, VeloCloud continued to expand its solution set for enterprises and service providers to support application growth, network agility and simplified branch office implementations,” says Sanjay Uppal, CEO of VeloCloud.
“Posting a record year for sales and possibly the highest number of new customer acquisitions in the space validates the differentiated cloud-delivered approach and the resulting simplicity and affordability VeloCloud brings,” Uppal added.
VeloCloud also won several industry awards in 2015. VeloCloud has been recognized by InterOps, CRN and Fierce as an emerging startup.
With more sales, comes more responsibility. In 2015, VeloCloud packed its executive team with industry veterans. 2015 also gave rise to the berth of VeloCloud’s advisory board, which consists of the following members:

  • Linda Bernardi, Chief Innovation Officer, Cloud & IoT at IBM.
  • Alan Boehme, CTO, CIO, Chief Enterprise Architect at The Coca-Cola Company.
  • Sandip Gupta, Vice President, Cloud Services at NTT DATA, Inc.
  • Greg Papadopoulos, NEA Venture Partner, former CTO at Sun Microsystems.
  • Russ White, Network Architect and Author.
