We rarely come across a backup solution that is good for both individual and business users alike. It’s generally either one or the other. Backup Everything, though, is one of the only backup providers that offers a fantastic hybrid backup solution for, as their name implies, everything and everyone. However, businesses looking for a top rated backup and storage solution need not look any further; Backup Everything should be your choice.

Features

When we first came across Backup Everything, we were expecting a standard feature list with extremely competitive pricing. That’s generally how it works for providers. However, Backup Everything took a risk by choosing the opposite route, and it has paid off. We will get to pricing below, which is still considered inexpensive, but let’s focus on the features for now. For starters, whereas other companies limit customers with the amount of licenses at their disposal, Backup Everything has this set at ‘unlimited’ making this especially intriguing for businesses. Additionally, it is not often you see a provider that supports VMWare backups. Yet, low and behold, Backup Everything offers this, along with many other supported files or applications for backup. Let’s take a look at some of their key features:

  • Unlimited licenses (desktop, server, laptop/mobile/tablet, remote desktop)
  • Unlimited number of previous file versions
  • Unlimited restriction on transfer speeds
  • Unlimited sharing
  • Supported files or apps such as VMWare, Hyper-V, SQL, SharePoint, MySQL, VSS, Open File Backup
  • Local copy of data for faster restore
  • 448-bit Blowfish encryption
  • Backup NAS device or alternative network device (for business users)
  • Mobile accessibility (Android, iOS, Windows)
  • Online portal access from any web browser

We would also like to mention that you can choose cloud, local or a hybrid backup. Similarly, they can seed the data to a disk for free which gets sent to their DC, great for businesses who have large volumes of data. Moreover, there is no need to install the client on each system; rather, you can remotely access other servers – a nice and efficient feature. Overall, the fact alone that Backup Everything enables you to backup data from multiple devices and many applications shows their superiority in this industry.

Support

On the surface, it may seem like Backup Everything’s support section is limited. However, this is untrue. While there are set hours, they are one of the only backup services to offer live chat. If live chat is ‘offline’ simply fill out the form within the live chat box and you should receive a reply within a matter of hours. They also have a comprehensive and helpful knowledgebase within their support center that will answer any question or issue you may run into. Lastly, Backup Everything is heavily active on the major social media platforms.

Ease of Use

If you are looking for a backup solution for your business, this is one of the most intuitive clients you will ever work with. In fact, Backup Everything’s main selling point is their usability. Simply select which files you want to backup (to a specific folder) and they will be backed up either locally, via the cloud or on hybrid depending on what you choose. Once your data is stored, for example in the cloud, you can retrieve it from the online portal. The functionality and layout of the web portal is fantastic; you can choose which file version you’d like to retrieve along with the ability to choose other options such as sharing and date range filters. Moreover, adding users or departments (for business accounts) is a breeze, as well as seeing your overall downloads and shares.

Security

The other key selling point of their service are the strict security protocols. Even for business backup solutions, we generally see 256-bit encryption. Backup Everything went the distance and offers military grade 448-bit Blowfish encryption for their customers. Furthermore, all of your data is stored locally in the UK at an ISO 27001 certified data center.

Pricing

Again, on the surface it seems like Backup Everything is a bit overpriced. But, yet again, this is untrue. In fact, this is arguably one of the most important aspects to Backup Everything’s service so pay attention. Pricing for individual (or remote) users is £10 per month (or £100 if billed annually) for unlimited data while for businesses it’s 10p per GB per month. We won’t argue with individual pricing – you can find slightly better deals on the market. However, for business? You will be hard pressed to find better value than what’s on offer here. Let’s take Amazon Storage as an example. It is slightly cheaper than Backup Everything’s pricing model, however it’s only a storage service. With Amazon, there is no backup solution, no automated service, limited support, and, for all intents and purposes – “hidden” fees. Moreover, you have no idea where your data is being stored. Unless you have one heck of an IT team, good luck with Amazon storage, or other services for that matter. Backup Everything is the ultimate value proposition for businesses looking for a backup and storage solution.
