Zetta.net Review

Founded in 2009, California based Zetta.net is led by an expert team with many years in the technology business. Zetta provides an enterprise-grade 3-in-1 cloud backup solution that combines a local backup solution with archiving & disaster recovery solutions for small and midsize enterprises, MSPs, and VARs. This review, however, will only focus on the cloud backup solution components of the service. Zetta has recently experienced an impressive growth-spurt. In 2013, they had 130% customer growth, 310% partner growth, and achieved 97% customer retention. We would recommend this service generally for enterprise users.

Features

The  standout feature of this service is their speed and performance. This is because Zetta uses 17 unique patent-pending technologies to transfer files as quickly as is currently possible. Users are able to transfer extremely large amounts of data (from 1TB – 200TB) with great speeds, and with no specific appliances needed. Other features include:

  • WAN-traffic optimization
  • Advanced data compression
  • Versioning
  • Multi-threaded data transport
  • Mapped network drive
  • Local backup and restore

Ease of Use

Installation is seamless and Zetta’s software can be deployed in just a few minutes. All of your data is stored in its original formatting and is not locked in a different or proprietary format.  This allows for increased convenience and access for the user, and all files can be accessed from anywhere, all through a web-based management portal. The Zetta dashboard is well designed and pretty easy to use. Once you have set up the program, it runs independently and you receive daily digests of all activity so you never lose track of your data.
